Hat 8003 British Rocket Troops

Today again some 1/72 scale figures. These Hat figures aren't bad at all. Nice sculpted and not to much flash. These painted very easy and also the equipment like the rockets and the wagon are very nice. what you see on the pictures is the result of one sprue of the set. A bit more information can be seen on Plastic Soldier Review.

History learned me that these rockets were a danger for the enemy as for the own troops. They weren't very accurate and landed very often between the own troops. Who wants to know more about these "congreve rockets" can read a lot more here on the wikipage.

The one in the front looks a bit odd but he just fired a rocket that was lying on the ground. So wtch out you never known where it will land! ;-D

I hope you like them.

Again some figures that were lying unfinished on my painting desk are done. And there is a lot more to come. Keep watching.

Asterix and the Britains 1

Today two figures of the Asterix in Britain comic book. One is the greenkeeper I painted for a duel against my good friend Remco from Remco Miniatures. The figures were a gift from him and his daughter in law picked one for the duel. The duel and the result of it can be seen here.

I tried to paint the figures like they look in the comic book, what is not always easy because I saw in the newer versions the colors have been changed a bit. Also the name was different from the first edition to the last one. The greenkeeper has no name as far that I know, but the cousin of Asterix has one. First he is called Notax, then it became Flegmatix and the latest version it is Anticlimax. For me, because I'm an old man, it stays Notax. Also because it is a little wink to my British friends!

So now I have written enough blabla, time for the pictures.

The two of them together.

Notax front.

Notax back.

Greenkeeper back.

Picture of Greenkeeper that I used as example.

I hope you like my two little friends and once again Remco, thank you for the figures. I hope to paint the other ones as soon as possible.

Speira Miniatures Plague Doctor

This post start with a little story. You must know that I've painted this figure as a gift for my wife. Strange gift for the one you love I see you thinking, but it isn't. You must know that my wife reads all about the plague, see documentaries and so on, because she likes to know how the people lived in those days and how they fought against it. And last year I saw this figure on the Speira Miniatures website and I really wanted it for her. It is a 3D printed figure in 54 mm (you can choose the scale you want). I choosed this scale because I had an idea how I could present it to her. Pictures will make that clear.

The figure is painted with acrylic ppaint of Revell, Games Workshop and Vallejo. I had to restart painting the figure once because I spotted some little tips of the printing on places where they shouldn't be. Luckely I had it finished just in time for Christmas Eve. And now the pictures:

Picture borrowed from the
Speira Miniatures Website.

Here are two pictures from a museum in Geel Belgium wich I used as example to paint the figure. More information of this museum you can find here: Gasthuismuseum

And here is how I presented it at her:

And yes she was very pleased with the very original present. It was also the first time in about 35 years we are together that I've painted a figure for her.

Hope you like him to.

Thanks for watching and keep it safe!

Italeri 6038 Union Artillery

Let's start this year by wishing all of you a wonderfull and healthy 2022! And that you all may paint a lot of figures! Mine start with this set of Italeri where I had some loose figures from. I've got a few more but that is for later. These were easy to paint with nice, and not to much, details. Bases are MDF 4mm and are only for storage purpose cause I'm not a wargamer.

I've painted one crew with cannon and two command figures on horse. I hope you like them!

Thanks for watching and keep it save!
