Another Napoleonic set this time. A very nice set I must say. It comes with eight poses, one officer and seven troop figures. They are very nice sculpted and painted up very easy. A complete review of this set can be seen on Plastic Soldier Review.
As allways I started painting these figures with a white undercoat. Then I did the flesh parts with Games Workshop (GW) Elf Flesh and GW Ogryn Flesh Wash. Next was the uniform, here I used Revell (R) Sea Green. To tone down the green I gave it a wash with GW Gryphonne Sepia. The blanket is done with GW Vermin Brown. All black parts are done with R Tar Black and the red parts with GW Blood Red. The gun is painted with R Brown and GW Boltgun Metal with a GW Devlan Mud Wash over it. Buttons are painted with GW Shining Gold. The cocarde on the helmet is done GW Echanted Blue, GW Tin Blitz, GW Blood Red, R White and GW Shining Gold. I hope this will help someone who want to paint this figures to.
I did enough talking, I better show you the pictures.
I hope you like them!

Lovely work Peter.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey're wonderful. I was actually looking for a set in which the figs had silly hats and this was one of the choices, finally I settled with the HäT Austrian Landwehr, they're being painted now.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooking forward to those Landwehr figures!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely stuff Peter! Very nicely done
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreat work, Peter!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love a top hat on a soldier.
Looks great Peter!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you for listing the paints you used. I know I need to buy more paint and I'd like to try this gold you have. The silver on the officer's sash and on the men's hats really pops out. Very nice work.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you Anne. Listing up the paints I used is just a guideline. In the past I painted with enamel paints, but others convinced me to use acrylic paint. And the family is pleased with that because the smell of paint has gone. I'm sure other figure painters will tell you that you don't need so much cans of paints. Some basic colours that you can mix are enough. I'm just to lazy for that.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is a very interesting set and a great paint job. What you're doing with the bases? Did you remove and give them new bases or did you paint the bases?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenRegards
Lonewolf
No, I will not paint or remove the bases. But I'm working on an idea, that I can show you soon. I hope.
