This is a figure I’ve painted for a duel on Benno’s Figures Forum. The challenge was to paint one single standing samurai from Zvezda, the same pose, four pictures. It was the first samurai I ever painted. So it was a real challenge for me.
I also had the question I’ve painted him green. It had to do with the period I’ve painted him. It was around Christmas so it looked suitable to me to give him that color. But I knew before the duel started I had no chance to win it. When you have a look at the duel itself, you can see it here, you will see what I mean. My opponents samurai is much better painted, with a lot more attention to the details. That’s the reason why I wrote “before” in this post. The plan is to paint the little details so he would look much better as now.
So consider this post as one out of two. To be continued!
Here are the pictures.
Hope you like him!

Welcome to my blog!!!!!
Looking great Peter.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFor the period he's perfect, Daimyo's didn't spend much on outfitting their samurai especially if he's a mean fecker......
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery nice. Praying Mantis style...Hiiii...yaa!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI liked him and voted for him :-D
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI´ve ordered the Dervish bods..but apparently they aren´t in stock anywhere at the moment! :-/
Cheers
paul
Hey Paul. So you were the one who voted for me. Thanks mate!
VerwijderenI've ordered the Dervish to, but no reply on my order so far.

Well I've got to say that I rather like the green; very fresh and clean. Top work Sir!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNow that's cool! Great job.

Nicely done !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery cool
BeantwoordenVerwijderen[kidding mode] It was a very good entry in the duel, but your duellist was too strong!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMaybe you could add him some Christmas Tree ... [/kidding mode]
Seriously, it's a nice figure! I've one that I begun to paint but not finished...
I used the Christmas tree somewhere else, you know that :-D
VerwijderenFinish the one you're painting. I want to see it!

He looks good; they came up with all sorts of devices and color schemes. Don't see why this green one wouldn't have been possible. Dean
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat was my thought to Dean. Why always red, blue and black? I'm going for green :-)

THank you all for the kind words guys. I'll do my best on the "after" figure, but that will be something for the future!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSorry if you don't get many replies on your blogs, but I have some problems with white screens. I think the program on my desktop is getting to old and blogger doesn't like it. But I'm working on it ;-)
Greetings
