Caesar Dwarf 1/10 and Christmas teaser

My good friend Pascal is busy with a Hobbit month on his blog. I thought, I give him support and here is one of the ten dwarfs of this set I want to paint. I know they are with 13 in the book, so I might do some conversion to get them complete.

As you all know between dwarfs they don't talk about tribes, but about shields. As this one has no shield, I painted him with green trousers, so he's a member of the green shields.

The pictures:

And I promised you a Christmas teaser! Well here it is. Wich historical person will ride this:

I need new trousers!

Again this is a figure sculpted by my good friend Alex. It's a "Landsknecht" with a kaketoe on his arm and a hole in his pants!  As you see I swichted colours on left and right side. I've seen this on pictures of this period and thought it would be a nice idea. This time the figure wasn't that easy to paint. There were a lot of hidden details and not easy to reach with the brush. Some parts I had to repaint because I forgot to paint the lower parts. But finally I managed and the result you can see here.

The occasion to paint this figure came by having a duel on Benno's with Remco from Remco Miniatures. He post only once a month on his blog and I'm assuming that he only paint one figure a month to! But he makes some great things, and isn't feared to make some conversions. The result of the duel can be seen here.

The pictures:

I hope you like him!

I also would like to thank the people that reacted on my call for help in my previous post Paint the City Pink Charity Auction! In this charity auction my Wolsung Lord James Fouley is for sale, and many other pink painted figures! Thanks boys and girls for teh support!

Paint the City Pink Charity Auction!!!!!!!

Dear readers of my blog,

I would like to inform you that the fundraising auction for the Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Campaign has started. You can find all the information on the Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher Blog from Ian. Because of the good cause I would like to ask that you could make some advertising on your blogs, by putting up a link. Or maybe you're interested in a figure yourself and place a bid. The more people that see this, the more chances their are to raise money for this good cause! Thank you for your help!

Please spread the news and give this auction the publicity it deserves!

Hat 8182 Natal Native Horse

Time is going fast and I realised that it has been a week that I posted something. But I also missed some things. When I was painting Wolsung Lord James Fouley, I passed the 40.000 hits. So a big thank you to you all for helping me reaching this milestone!

And last week when I posted that award, I saw to late that it was my post one hundred. So I celebrated that with....... a cup of coffee and a cookie! :-D My naughty followers (and I have some!) were thinking something else! ;-) But I couldn't have reached this number without the help, comments and fun of you all! Thank you for the support through the first hundred posts!

Speaking about that award, I had a fourth nomination from Piotr Henryk Nowacki from Revolutionaries blog. A blog about Ancient Historic 28 mm and 1/72 miniatures! Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

Now back to the post title. Natal Native Horse from Hat is a very fine set, wich painted very easy. Not to much colours and details, but the result may be seen. A review of them can be read here on PSR.

Here are the pictures:

Again a nice addition to my Zulu War figures. I hope you like them!

Liebster Blog Award

I’ve been nominated three times for this award.

The first one was Vincent, better known as Captain Lol of  http://figurinepassion.blogspot.be/. My Belgian friend is a fantastic painter of figure busts. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The second one was from my good friend Sander from http://modusregmagnimomenti.blogspot.be/. He’s specialised in war gaming with Napoleonic figures. But he paint other periods to, like for example the Colonial one. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The third one is from my Greek friend Thanos from http://miniaturesterrainpage.blogspot.be/. He’s building a big British army, with figures and vehicles. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

"The rules:

- "Copy and paste" the award on your blog, and talk about it a bit.

- Select for the award your five favourite blogs with less than 200 followers, leaving a comment on one of their post to notify them that they have won the award. You need also to list them in your own blog.

- Enjoy the moment, knowing that you have just made someone's day.

- Of course, there is no obligation to pass the award, but it is a good deed really."

So let’s have a look at the blogs I’ve nominated. I’ve made the choice to pick five blogs who weren’t nominated yet:

The first one is from my good friends of the Netherlands, Remco, http://sjemco.blogspot.be/. The odd thing with him is that he only post one figure a month. But the figures he paints are rare. Conversions, but also a beautiful range of Asterix figures. Have a look at his blog and be amazed!

The second one is a good friend from Belgium. Danny from http://dioramanet.blogspot.com/. He makes lovely WW2 vignettes with a very good eye for details. Have a look at his blog and be amazed!

The third one is Matt from http://airfixacwproject.blogspot.be/. He’s rebuilding the American Civil War with Airfix figures. He’s using original ones and making conversions, by painting or for example French Foreign Legion figures from Airfix. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

The fourth blog is that one of Jen and Ben from http://vswargame.blogspot.be/. This couple paints fantastic figures, mostly in 28 mm and 1/72 scale. Now they’re starting a project, painting the seven samurai’s of the well known movie. Beautiful sculpted figures. Have a visit at their blog and be amazed!

The fifth blog is one from Canada. He’s from Chasseur and he has a blog called http://forhonourssake.blogspot.be/. And like he says it’s dedicated to Solo war gaming, naval, Colonial,1812, and other imaginary aspects of war gaming. Have a visit at his blog and be amazed!

Pity we can only pick five of them, because there are so many good blogs. But with visiting them and give comments on their blogs we don’t forget them.

I have a few new followers, but I will give them a proper welcome in my next post!

This is part one of a figure set that was sended to me by my good friend Alex from Russia as a birthday gift. Thank you again Alex! There was more in that package but that's for another post. The set contains 10 figures and are sculpted very good. You can buy them at the shop of Fredericus-Rex.

Here you can see the first 5 figures I've painted. The other ones are still in progress.

My favorite figure!
Tijl Uylenspiegel!
A Flemish figure!

Painted him as a Fransiskaner!

With this one something
went wrong.
I'll check on him later.

Wolsung Lord James Fouley Finished

I managed to get him finished on time. And while I'm writing these words he's on his way to a new home. As I said in the beginning of this project, it wasn't easy for me to paint him. And the most problems I had was with the bird on his arm. Finally I painted that one with about eight colours I think.

Well I hope you all like the final result!

Belts an other things painted with
GW Shining Gold

White parts painted with Revell White

The bird painted with:
GW Blazing Orange
Vallejo Red Wash
GW Sunburst Yellow
GW Fiery Orange
GW Blood Red
GW Enchanted Blue
GW Ice Blue
GW Camo Green

The final result!

I hope you like him!
