Imex 518 Conestoga Wagon

Here is the second of three wagons that are painted and based from the Imex wagon range. The third one will be posted another time.

This wagon was bought by a second hand auction but was in bad shape and I had to rebuild it as good as possible. Here is a picture how it looked like when I started with it.

I think I can be happy with the final result of this wagon. I have seven more of these to do. Here you can see it when you get it in good shape.

Here some more pictures of the finished model. I hope you like it!

I also found a picture taken by Mr Brady, a famous photographer of that period!

Imex 513 Chuck Wagon

Finally I found some time to post something here. I painted a lot of figures but I didn't take pictures, maybe because I'm to lazy, and also because I have so many projects ongoing. I also have been busy by collecting 54 mm figures that I missed in my collection. So now I will post now and then a bit of my work.

This Imex Chuck Wagon, is one of the two wagons that are in this set. The other one is a Prairie Schooner, but that one isn't painted yet. I did some others but that will be for another post. Still have to do some work on the base. In the mean time I hope you like this one.

AWI figures

Today a small bunch of figures of the American War of Independence. It's a little mix of Imex, Revell and Italeri.

The first two are from Imex. These are two of the special figures who were add to the Original Accurate figure set. I think they are carrying the bosses tea set!

Next are five new painted figures of the Revell set (former Accurate). I use the one I allready painted as example to paint the others.

And finally I present an American Native Warrior. My inspiration for this figure I get from the movie The Last Mohican. As know these warriors fought on both sides in this war. Don't know yet on which side this one will end. It's a figure from Italeri.

I hope you like them!

Imex Wounded Regular American

Again a figure that Pete from Tabakskollegium-Mekelnborg sended to me. Normally this figure is from the British Infantry set from Imex. You can see a review here on PSR. It’s just because I see him on the other side for my AWI project.
Plan is to paint more of these British Infantry men into American Regular troops to get more poses without doing conversions on them. But more about that later.
Enjoy the pictures!

Hope you like him.

Imex English Officer

I finished another figure that I received from my good friend Pete from Tabakskollegium-Mekelnborg. More information about that you can read in my Imex Lord Cornwallis post.

He's painted almost the same way as Lord Cornwallis, the only thing I wasn't sure of was his helmet. Maybe a specialist of this period can give me some advice.

Have a look at the pictures:

Hope you like him!

Imex Lord Cornwallis

I finally managed to paint the first extra figure of this set. They were sended to me by Pete from Tabakskollegium-Mekelnborg as a gift. And I would like to thank him again for that. Only thing he asked was that I should paint them and then make a little dio with them, making some pictures and send them to him. So this post is just to show him that I'm making some progress.

Now about the figure. I thought it would be nice to paint him like Lord Cornwallis, so I did. You can read some more about him here (wiki page).

It was hard to remove the mold lines, and I didn't manage to remove them all. When they made this figure the molds didn't fit right in my opinion. I started to paint him with a white undercoat, and then a layer of GW Gryphonne Sepia wash. This I always do when I have to paint some parts white. I do that with a drybrush, so the deeper parts have some shade. You can also do that with a grey wash, like I did on the horse. Further colors I used are red, blue, black antracite, tar black and gold (and some others, I think :-D).

Here are the pictures:

Hope you like him.

I took the following picture as a sample:
